Somerset East is a serene, pretty town where the streets are lined with oak trees situated below the striking Bosberg Mountain range. “Samson of the Bosberg” was a drifter in the 1950’s who was responsible for the crime in the area and the murder of a shepard on Bosburg Mountain’s peak. He hid in a narrow crack in the slopes of the Bosberg Mountains that opened up into a large area where he was able to view the entire town and plot his crimes. He was caught and executed for the murder of the shepard. Somerset East offers a number of pleasant hiking trails and is close many game farms.
