Krugersdorp was founded in 1887 by Marthinus Pretorius and is named after President Paul Kruger of the Zuid Afrikaanscke Rebupliek. Rich in culture and history, the town is the industrial center of Western Gauteng, with a population over 350 000 people. Krugersdorp boasts the worlds first mining enterprise to produce uranium as a by product of gold. Visitors to the town can enjoy all the same benefits of a big city, with its modern shopping malls, schools and business centre, as well as game reserves.
