| Port Shepstone is the largest town on the KwaZulu Natal South Coast. Founded in 1867 and named after the secretary for native affairs, Sir Theophilus Shepstone. It is the administrative, commercial and distribution centre of the KwaZulu Natal South Coast. Subtropical fruit, sugar, lime, wattle and timber are grown in the area.
