Breyton

 
 


Breyton is named after Nicolaas Breytenbach who bought a portion of the farm Bothasrus. Founded on 25 October 1906, after a railway line from Springs through Bethal reached his farm on 22 August 1905. Breyton has a successful coal mining industry, a well established leatherworks, a promising weaving industry and becoming well-known for its apple farming. Attractions include angling, bird watching, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, hunting and wing shooting.
