Hectorspruit

 
 

Hectorspruit is named after Servaas de Kock’s pointer, Hector and a tributary of the Crocodile River. Servaas de Kock assisted in surveying President Paul Kruger’s railway from Delagoa Bay to Pretoria which reached Hectorspruit on 1 October 1891. It is a commercial and distribution centre for sugarcane, vegetables and subtropical fruit.
