Vryburg

Vryburg, meaning ‘town of freedom’, is the agricultural and industrial hub of the Bophirima region. There are a large number of game and cattle ranches in the area. Back in the day, Vryburg was a roaming ground for cattle and horse thieves, including the famous Scotty Smith. Scotty Smith was an impractical idealist, capable of the most outrageous deeds. Like Robin Hood, he robbed the rich to help the poor.
